The Altered State is a laser cutting and engraving business based in Carnoustie, Angus, specialising in high-quality engraved gifts and personalised products.

Founded in 2017, the business combines more than 30 years of manufacturing, supply chain, and lean production experience with industry-leading laser technology to create detailed, beautifully finished pieces.

Alongside their sister company Ellie & Hart, The Altered State creates a wide range of gifts and homeware including chopping boards, keyrings, hip flasks, and decorations.

More recently, we have collaborated with The Altered State on a collection of Carnoustie fridge magnets - a project we are especially excited about. Carnoustie magnets have been requested by both locals and visitors, and sourcing locally made designs was important to us. Rather than choosing generic imported souvenirs, we wanted something thoughtfully designed and made much closer to home - creating keepsakes that truly reflect the town and the people behind them.
