John is a local Carnoustie man who has an incredible wood turning talent. He sees the beauty in nature and sources interesting trees both locally and abroad for his work.
John has many local sources and we have sold a number of pieces which have been reborn from a Carnoustie Cherry tree which had stood on Carlogie Road for the past 95 years!.

He uses tree branches which have been trimmed or chopped down and would otherwise be burned or binned and to minimise waste and really celebrate the story of wood he often uses resin in his work. He calls this 'resin rescue' and it really highlights the cracks, crevasses and checks.

John makes bowls, vases and bottle openers but our favourite are his little mice. They are super cute and make the perfect accompaniment to any cheese board.
